The Father’s Heart – beginning of provision
I believe in God the Father,
Maker of heaven and earth.
The Apostle’s Creed
This summer we went camping. The campground was nestled amidst tall oaks. Above was the canopy of blue sky. A river and creek meandered through the setting. During the day various birds sang their songs. At night, the frogs joined the chorus. These were sounds of creation’s huge choir!
While meditating one morning, I looked at the oak trees, roofed by the canopy above. I recalled a fact from biology learned centuries ago. To live and grow trees inhale carbon dioxide and exhale oxygen. The process is called photosynthesis. On the other hand, humans live and grow by inhaling oxygen and exhaling carbon dioxide. This is labeled respiration. The great philosopher, Forrest Gump, said to Jenny: “We’re like “peas and carrots.” That’s the way it is for trees and humans!
Day One: “Let there be LIGHT.’” Day Two: “Let there be a space between the waters, to separate the waters of the heavens from THE WATERS of the earth.” Day Three: “Let the waters beneath the sky flow together into one place, so DRY GROUND may appear. God called the dry ground “land” and the waters “seas.”Let the land sprout with vegetation —every sort of seed-bearing plant, and TREES that grow seed-bearing fruit.”
Note the progression: LIGHT > WATER > GROUND > TREES > HUMAN BEINGS!
It’s a natural system designed especially for our welfare. Another evidence of the Father’s provision for his kids!
