“Can you get the attention of the clouds,
and commission a shower of rain?
Can you take charge of the lightning bolts
and have them report to you for orders?
Are you the one who gave the horse his prowess
and adorned him with a shimmering mane?
Did you create him to prance proudly
and strike terror with his royal snorts?
He paws the ground fiercely, eager and spirited,
then charges into the fray.
Stop and consider God’s wonders.
Out of the north he comes in golden splendor;
God comes in awesome majesty.
The Almighty is beyond our reach and exalted in power!
Does the eagle soar at your command
and build its nest on high?
It dwells on a cliff and stays there at night;
a rocky crag is its stronghold.
From there it looks for food;
its eyes detect it from afar.
Its young ones feast on blood,
and where the slain are, there it is.”
“If we never had the courage to take a leap of faith,
we’d be cheating God out of a chance to mount us up with wings like eagles and watch us soar.”
― Jen Stephens,
God’s wisdom is so deep, God’s power so immense.
He moves mountains before they know what’s happened,
flips them on their heads on a whim.
All by himself he stretches out the heavens
and strides on the waves of the sea.
We’ll never comprehend all the great things he does;
his miracle-surprises can’t be counted.
God created the whole world for this end, that it may be a theater of his glory”
