I bless God every chance I get;
my lungs expand with his praise.I live and breathe God;
if things aren’t going well, hear this and be happy:
God met me more than halfway,
he freed me from my anxious fears.
Look at him; give him your warmest smile.
Never hide your feelings from him.
When I was desperate, I called out,
and God got me out of a tight spot.
Open your mouth and taste, open your eyes and see—
how good God is. Blessed are you who run to him.
God keeps an eye on his friends.
Is anyone crying for help?
God is listening, ready to rescue you.
If your heart is broken, you’ll find God right there;
if you’re kicked in the gut, he’ll help you catch your breath.
I will praise the Lord no matter what happens.
I will constantly speak of his glories and grace.
I will boast of all his kindness to me.
Let all who are discouraged take heart.
Let us praise the Lord together and exalt his name.
For I cried to him and he answered me!
He freed me from all my fears.
Others too were radiant at what he did for them.
Theirs was no downcast look of rejection!
This poor man cried to the Lord—and the Lord heard him and saved him out of his troubles.
Put God to the test and see how kind he is!
See for yourself the way his mercies shower down on all who trust in him.
So I looked, and there was a Lamb, slaughtered but standing tall. He came to the One Seated on the Throne and took the scroll from his right hand. The moment he took the scroll, [the heavenly hosts] fell down and worshiped the Lamb. And they sang a new song:
Worthy! Take the scroll, open its seals.
Slain! Paying in blood, you bought men and women,
Bought them back from all over the earth,
Bought them back for God.
I looked again. I heard a company of Angels around the Throne, ten thousand times ten thousand their number, thousand after thousand after thousand in full song:
The slain Lamb is worthy!
Take the power, the wealth, the wisdom, the strength!
Take the honor, the glory, the blessing!
Then I heard every creature in Heaven and earth, in underworld and sea, join in, all voices in all places, singing:
To the One on the Throne! To the Lamb!
The blessing, the honor, the glory, the strength,
For age after age after age.
I believe in … in Jesus Christ his only Son our Lord,
Who was conceived by the Holy Ghost,
Born of the Virgin Mary,
Suffered under Pontius Pilate,
Was crucified, dead, and buried. He descended into hell;
The third day He rose again from the dead;
He ascended into heaven,
And sits on the right hand of God the Father Almighty;
From thence he shall come to judge the quick and the dead.
“Give praise to the Lord, proclaim his name;
make known among the nations what he has done,
and proclaim that his name is exalted.
Sing to the Lord, for he has done glorious things;
let this be known to all the world.”
“I’ll take up the lute and thank you
to the tune of your faithfulness, God.
I’ll make music for you on a harp.
When I open up in song to you,
I let out lungsful of praise,
my rescued life a song.
All day long I’m chanting
about you and your righteous ways.”
“O PRAISE THE NAME”
Enter his gates with a song of thanksgiving.
Come into his courtyards with a song of praise.
Give thanks to him; praise his name.
